Technical Coordinator
The Technical Coordinator duties are to service all areas of the Sheriff's Office and assist other County employees, if directed so by the Sheriff.

Maintains and troubleshoots any problems from replacing hardware to installing or upgrading new software.  The Technical Coordinator assists all areas computer related and general office tasks.  Ranging from but not limited to:

Monitoring of the office network server, making sure virus protection is up to date.  Having current backup for day-to-day input.

Instruct office employees with current computer software, including the wireless network.  Having small group training sessions or one-on-one instruction to complete the project.  So we may utilize the equipment available to be the most effective.

Special computer programs were set up for keeping information on deferral inmates.  Track who served, when they need to serve and how many days to serve, this information can be available at a moments notice for review.

With the help of a Grant from OCJS (Ohio Criminal Justice) the Crawford County Sheriff's Office was able to purchase 16 new tablet PC's for the road units.  The tablet PC's are equipped with a wireless connection that enable us to upload information to the main computer.  Special training, programs and configuration was done to complete this project.

The Technical Coordinator wears many hats and assists all areas from minor office task to creating new computer programs.  Our goal is to keep cost maintenance of our computer system down, and utilize the software with a state certified computer instructor in house.  This will greatly reduce our cost of out sourcing computer technology.

 

Maintenance
One person maintains the Maintenance Division at the Crawford County Sheriff's office.  He over sees tests and inspections for the following every year:

                                       State Fire Marshall
                                       Fire Extinguisher Building and Cars
                                       Sprinkler Building
                                       Fire System Building
                                       Back Flow
                                       Boilers
                                       Heating Systems
                                       Cooling Systems

The Generator is tested weekly and the building is inspected for pests monthly by a certified Pest Control Company.

Having our own maintenance person has been cost saving.  The maintenance person does constant preventative maintenance checks, which help tremendously.  The maintenance person gets the equipment repaired and back running when we have a break down with minimal down time.  This is very important to us being a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation.
