Reserve Deputies

The Crawford County Reserve Deputy Unit is composed of individuals engaged in other full time occupations that wish to contribute a service to their community. These officers must undergo and complete the same law enforcement and firearms training as a regular deputy, along with yearly state mandated training. They also pay for their own uniforms and equipment.

The unit held 10 regular meetings. They viewed 7 training films, held 3 personal training meetings, attended Red Cross C.P.R. classes and did firearms qualifications at the range.

Reserve Deputies assist the Sheriff's Office by providing security during special events:

Crawford County fair

Community Garage Sale at the fair grounds

Bratwurst Festival

Gus Macker Event

The Reserve Deputy Unit donated $983.00 to the Sheriff's Office for training mats. The unit also donated $6,000.00 for a traffic control trailer (radar unit) for the Sheriff's Office.
